What I do different.

It struck me when I talked to an old school friend about my love for horses and evaluated the years I have been involved with riding, training, showing and teaching. Over 50 years, thats crazy!

I learned to ride in Germany and Switzerland. In both countries I am certified in teaching Dressage, Three Day Eventing, and Jumping. Even though my focus has been on the wellbeing of the horse and rider, I enjoy looking back at all my accomplishments: a long list of Championship titles here in the U.S. and my showing years in Germany and Switzerland.

Why has my focus changed? I have always valued the partnership between myself and my horses and their enthusiasm to participate in the training program. Many years and several horses later, I have learned better ways to keep my horses happy and sound in mind and body.

Now, I use Dressage as the means to produce athletes and Body Work options to keep them sound.

How can you, as a novice or advanced rider, incorporate this into your daily routine?

I am sure we all have had weekly lessons at the barn down the road. In the beginning of your riding adventure, it is important that you have a set of knowledgeable eyes on the ground at all times. But after you have mastered the initial lessons, it is time to move on.

I love clinics, in two or three days you can emerge yourself and your horse into a much deeper understanding of what it means to ride with joy and leave behind frustrating training obstacles. Dressage work can be applied to your preferred style of riding or horse: English or Western, Jumping or Distance, Under Saddle or in Hand, Tall or Short, Old or Young. A healthy and happy relationship with your horse is the key to your success in the show ring or in the woods. Kick your riding up a notch by letting me show you what you can accomplish with your horse. Dressage under saddle or in hand, Working Equitation obstacles, Cavaletti work, and riding over terrain will make you and your horse enjoy riding much more.

You will learn easy ways to keep your horse happy and healthy by applying some proven Body Work techniques before and after your ride. You will learn how all of this is related, healthy mind - able body - joy of riding!
